Chat Marble Race is a game you play by typing in a YouTube live chat, run by The Work Works LLC. This page explains what it stores about you, why, and how to get rid of it.
Three things, all of which come from the live chat you are already typing in:
Nothing else. No email address, no location, no tracking across other sites, no cookies for advertising.
Your display name goes on a marble so you can find yourself in the race. Your channel ID is how the game knows that you are you — it is the only stable identifier, so your race history survives if you change your display name. Chat messages are stored so we can look into problems: a marble that did not appear, a name that was wrongly blocked, a result that looks wrong.
Type !forget in the live chat.
That is the whole process. The message proves you own the channel, so nothing else is needed — no form, no account, no email confirmation. You will see an acknowledgement on screen.
Or email chatmarblerace@gmail.com and ask.
Either way it is done within 7 days, and usually within seconds. Your chat messages, your racer record and any saved marble appearance are deleted. Past race results are stripped of anything identifying you but the rows stay, so the races other people ran still add up correctly.
Chat Marble Race uses YouTube API Services to read the live chat and to check whether the stream is live. That is how typing !join turns into a marble.
By using Chat Marble Race you are also agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service.
Google's own handling of your information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, which is separate from this one and which we do not control.
If you claimed your channel and want to disconnect it, you can revoke Chat Marble Race's access at any time from Google's security settings page, at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Revoking access stops any future connection to your account. It does not by itself delete what is already stored here — for that, type !forget in the chat, or email us.
Deleting your data here removes it from this game only. YouTube keeps its own copy of your chat messages and channel information, and that is entirely separate. To deal with what YouTube stores, use Google's privacy settings.
Nobody. Your data is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties. It is not used for advertising. It is held by The Work Works LLC in a private database used only to run this game.
Your display name and race results are visible on the stream itself, because that is the point of the game.
This game is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child's data is stored here, email chatmarblerace@gmail.com and it will be deleted. You do not need to prove anything — asking is enough.
